[ID: 169] Impact of forest management on water quality
We are evaluating the impact on water quality of peatland forest harvesting, ditch cleaning and ditch restoration in the area of Trollberget, through a side by side comparison experiment. In 2019-2023, water quality, discharge and water table will be monitored year long in the Trollberget area, with Krycklan as a comparison. Forest harvest will be done in 4 catchments at Trollberget by clear cutting in summer and/or winter 2020. And, in summer 2021, only two catchments will be ditch cleaned. Also, the mire (Stormyr) in Trollberget will be restored in summer 2020 by closing the ditches draining the mire.
